November 28th

3rd graders are learning how to collect data and how to create bar graphs to show the results.  In technology we used MS-Excel to learn how to create some fun graphs.  The first was about who in the class had just brothers, just sisters, both brothers and sisters or no brothers and sisters.  Mrs. Dufraine created that bar graph.  Then the students chose 5 animals that we have in our homes and everyone voted to create the data. After that they created bar graphs to represent the data.  Here are several of the 3rd grade Excel graphs.

Here is the latest Wolf Swamp TV show, newly named "Wolf Swamp Review", or WSR for short. Please enjoy. It is brought to you by the Wolfy News Network, or the WNN (the Win network!)

We are also still working on our Google account websites on Science.  Click here to see one example of the great and exciting website design happening in 5th grade.

In 4th grade, we took a break from our Google account presentations and worked on Excel to create some really fun bar graphs!

The 2nd graders have been hard at work learning about Life Cycles. In their classroom they learned about the life cycle of the butterfly along with having a butterfly habitat right in their rooms. In technology, we learned about the life cycle of the pumpkin using two pumpkins, one cut open and one whole. After talking and learning about the life cycle, the students created a book of the two life cycles using the iPads and Book Creator. Here are some examples of their wonderful work.

Enjoy all the excitement of October by watching our 5th graders create a show to highlight all the happenings around our school!

The Kindergarteners are learning to draw on the iPad using Doodle Buddy app.  They had to draw a picture of a pumpkin to go along with book "The Legend of Spookley, the Square Pumpkin". Enjoy these two wonderful drawings.

October has arrived along with Fall. Enjoy the newest 5th grade project, a Wolf Swamp School TV show to highlight events in the school.  Using the new video camera, tripod and the green screen the 5th graders read a script from a teleprompter and created the first of many TV shows.

Also enjoy some of the collages made by the 1st grade using Fall words.  The collages were made on the iPad with the Pic Collage app.

The second graders also gave it a try and had fun adding backgrounds and stickers to their Fall words.
Notice Curious George had many Halloween costumes on!

On with September:

The first graders are serious about being a good friend and knowing how others are feeling.  Here are videos with some first grade actors and actresses (you will notice we used the green screen and some of our actresses had green on and blended in with the background!):
All videos are unlisted, meaning you need a link to view them.

4th grade created another Wordle, but this one was about themselves and their teachers had them create a "Wordle person" .  They came out wonderfully.  Here are a couple of them:

2nd graders have been busy with the Bluster app on the iPads, working alone with ryhming words and now working in groups.

Third graders had their Voice QRcodes out for Open House and teachers and parents read them!

Both 4th and 5th graders are working on opening their Google Accounts and getting them up and running.  We will be learning how to create a Google doc next.

5th graders also created questions and answers using QRcodes for the summer reading book, The Sixty-Eight Rooms by Marianne Malone.
