The 5th graders have worked hard this holiday season to create the next Wolf Swamp Review TV show.  Enjoy the November and part of December show!

The 3rd graders along with learning how to type, using typing.com, have also been learning how to create Wordles, using wordle.net.  They type words in a Google document and have learned cool shortcuts to get their words into the program, wordle.net.  To accomplish that, they have learned to use Command-A, Command-C and Command-V.  The fun of course is in the creation of the wordle, and being able to change the font, layout and colors.  So far we have practiced using MA state symbols, our own characteristics and traits, and spelling words! Here are some examples.

The "Week of Code" started on December 5th, 2016.  We used the website, "code.org" for our coding and programming experience.  This website has coding for K-12 education with several levels of courses and many fun activities.  Enjoy the short video of the students coding!

The 2nd graders have also been working hard on Heritage dolls and stories of their families heritage.  Using the iPad app DOINK and the green screen technology, groups of fellow students came together to show off their family heritage flags.  Enjoy

The 1st graders have been hard at work in their classrooms discovering information about their family's heritage. They have colored flags and have been giving presentations in the classroom. In technology class, we used the Pic Collage app to show off their wonderfully colored flags, their picture, and their family heritage. Please enjoy these fun Adobe Spark videos.

September projects!
The entire school read "The Trumpet of the Swan" by E.B. White, and we started out the year using that knowledge.  The fifth grade created individual questions from the book and put their answers in self generated QR-Codes using QRstuff.com.  Here are a couple of examples.  Feel free to use your QR-reader app to check out the answers!

The 4th graders have been working hard on projects on the upcoming Olympics in Rio, Brazil.  They could create a Google Slideshow, Google Drawing or iMovie or iTrailer.

1st graders have been working hard on book and other topic reviews!  In technology, they used the microphone and iPad setup to record their hard work.  Here is one class and their great reviews.

5th graders are still learning about electricity and circuits by experimenting with "Little Bits". They use the Little Bits and their own creativity to invent circuits that turn on buzzers, lights, wind mills and motors.   Hands-on and fun!

The new Wolf Swamp Review is out!  All about February!!  The 5th graders worked hard on this episode and had fun, too.  Enjoy.

The 2nd graders took their snowman animation videos created with the Stop Motion app on the iPad, saved it and created an iMovie with it. Their goal was to add the movie, music and a title page.  Please enjoy their hard work.

The 5th graders are still hard at work on their Electricity eBooks. They are creating Google Slideshow projects in the format of a book.  Several students have finished, and have moved on to the Stop Motion app on the iPads.  They are creating snowmen, just like the 2nd graders,or a design of their own choice. They can also put the videos into iMovie on the iPads.

The 2nd graders are the first to try the Stop Motion app on the iPad.  Their goal was to build a snowman successfully as a group and create their video.  They worked well together and made cool "snowman" animation.  Please enjoy their hard work.  The first one is a stop motion project put into iMovie on the iPad. 

 

2nd graders have had fun learning about land forms. After working hard to research and create questions about land forms, we created a game show green screen presentation.

World Read Aloud Day is today, Wednesday, February 24th.  Three fifth graders wanted to use the video equipment and record a read aloud for the entire school.  With help from Ms. Longanecker and Mrs. Dufraine, here is their exceptional video.

The Bee-bots have arrived and the Kindergarten students gave them a workout.  Using the shape mat, they had to give the Bee-bots commands. Starting at the  Blue square they had to give commands to successfully move and turn to a chosen shape.  What fun!

The first graders have been hard at work.  Working in pairs or partner of three, they had to construct a "How To" story with 4 steps.  After coming up with a topic, and writing the 4 steps they used the iPad app, PicCollage, to write their steps and illustrate the steps by taking pictures with the iPad camera.  Here a two examples:

The fourth graders have been hard at work learning about Canada and the 13 provinces and territories and working on a project about Canadian animals.  We used the Canadian Geographic website: www.cgakids.ca, they chose an animal, researched and took notes to create a Google Drawing for that animal.  After that, we practiced our interviewing skills and used the green screen.  With the Google drawing, and the green screen interview, we moved onto learning how to use iMovie.  Here are some
